How the hell do you tear cling film off the roll?
I've spent about 20 minutes trying to tear off some cling film so I could microwave some vegetables and in the end all I had was a misshapen roll with some knife and scissors marks in it. Every time I was able to get a tiny bit off, it would quickly break off and I could never get enough off to cover the bowl of veg. I cooked two whole rainbow trout in the oven and roast potatoes too but I'm so p***ed off now I'm not going to eat any of it.
Can I learn to tear off cling film or will I just have to avoid food that has to be put in the microwave and covered? Can you use kitchen foil in the microwave?
I use the hands and feet method. But I still usually manage to get hit in the face with the serrated bar, leaving a bloody track diagonally across my nose and forehead. It's recommended to get the wider wrap: 36-inch wide is better for covering a 9x11 casserole pan, if you can get a piece long enough. Sometimes it takes several pieces of wrap that way. Always dial 91 on your phone, saving time when the emergency develops (I've fallen in the cling wrap and can't get up), so all you have to dial with your tongue is the final 1.
